Words of Wisdom 024: On hard work

Hard work helps you get what you want. If you want something significant, you must work hard.

Is the effort of your work going to get you to something worthy?

Strategy is another element of getting what you want, and strategy is how you try to get to where you want to go. Are you working hard on your strategy?

Far too many people spend far too little time working hard to think strategically and grow in that skill set.

If you struggle to work hard, maybe what you want isn't meaningful enough. With a significant answer to "What's your why?", you will have the courage to begin and the fortitude to endure. Powerful purpose breeds perseverance.

Focus your life on what is most valuable. It is the surest way to increase how hard you work and that your target is worth hitting.

According to the most influential man in human history, the most important focus is to love God, yourself, and others. Do this with everything you have, and your life will stand when the storms come.

Quotes

"Opportunities are usually disguised as hard work, so most people don't recognize them."

Ann Landers

"There is no easy way. There is only hard work, late nights, early mornings, practice, rehearsal, repetition, study, sweat, blood, toil, frustration, and discipline. Discipline. There must be discipline. Discipline: the root of all good qualities. The driver of daily execution. The core principle that overcomes laziness and lethargy and excuses. Discipline defeats the infinite excuses that say: not today, not now, I need a rest, I will do it tomorrow."

Jocko Willink, Discipline Equals Freedom
