WoW 055: On navigating uncertainty [Words of Wisdom]

Identify your primary values. The higher the value, the better the north start to stay the course when uncertainty comes.

No fear, no growth. Feeling fear and uncertainty is necessary for growth, creativity, and living out worthwhile values.

The more fear, the more meaning.

Your direction determines your destination.

You need time to walk the path to see where it leads.

When a critical voice speaks, ask what value, what part of you is speaking?

Ask powerful questions to reframe your challenges.

Sitting in silence strengthens your capacity for taking the most meaningful action.

You know your path only by walking it.

You will know where you are when you get there. Discovery only happens by being in the arena.

Walk your path well.

Quotes

“The ability not only to endure but to invite, amplify, and exalt uncertainty, then reframe it as fuel is paramount to your ability to succeed as a creator.“

Jonathan Fields, Uncertainty

"I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and through me. And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path. Where the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain."

Frank Herbert, Dune
